The season of joy and giving is upon us. Many will wish to help provide some joy to those that are less privlidged during this time. None are more deserving than children. For the second year the Beaufort County Hospital and its physician staff will assist in collecting items for the Toys for Tots program. This year the Pungo District Hospital will join in the effort. Collection boxes will be placed in the lobby of both hospitals.
Donations of toys may also be made at the offices of Pamlico Internal Medicine and Chocowinity Family Care. For those who do not have time to shop and wish to donate funds, Amy Corey will accept your donation and assure that monies will be used only for the purchase of items to be contributed to the effort.
The toys for tots program is managed primarily by the United States Marine Corps. The marines at the Cherry Point Air Station will collect the donations at the Washington Waterfront on December 8 as part of the Christmas Flotilla. Last year’s effort from Beaufort County was appauded by the marines as one of the most generaous in the Eastern North Carolina area.
